HAPPY NEW YEAR! |
 |
I always liked the idea of a new beginning. No matter what happened before, looking forward seems so hopeful and positive. The alternative certainly doesn't seem so good. The fact that it's been over a year since the last entry to this blog is also history. As a Celiac, making the year better means taking better control of foods, better planning, and resisting the last minute grabbies that invaribly mean eating bad-for-you stuff. Eating "cleaner" will make all the difference in the world in terms of health and well-being.
Planning is key. All the little hidden gluten and other poisons in our food bring down our energy as well as the resolve to feel better. It's tough to plan anything when our brains won't work.
My mother has this wonderful saying:
"You have to accept the fact that your past isn't going to get any better."
With this in mind, THIS is the year that we will get this support group buzzin! I hope you're coming to the next support group meeting on January 15th. It's going to be a good one!
We need lots of help to make the support group work well. How about we work on this together? None of this making a resolution today and forgetting about it tomorrow! Does someone want to start gluten-free cooking classes? Maybe you have new resources for gluten-free foods? Maybe you want to help add more information on this web site?
For my part, I'm restarting this Celiac blog, and will be adding to it at least once a week with thoughts and ideas and recipes. What about you?
